GHC is proud to have Bonnie McKibben as our director.  Bonnie is originally  from California and moved with husband, Mark, in 2002, to Squirrel Hill  where they own a production business.

At the age of 14 Bonnie began singing professionally in folk clubs and then Hollywood nightclubs.  She was "discovered" at age 17 and recorded a solo album with Atlantic Records.

At the age of 18 Bonnie joined Verdugo Hills Chorus directed by Joni Bescos.  Joni took Bonnie under her  wing and they sang together in several quartets before forming 4 for the Show.  Bonnie sang lead and they won regional contest in 1978; they competed in Los Angeles and came in 16th.  Not bad considering Bonnie was pregnant and had the measles!  They again competed in 1980 regional and won.  It was then off to International in Atlanta where they came in 11th.

Bonnie became director of Harbolites Chorus.  They started with 35 members strong and grew to 114 and went on to compete at International.

Bonnie switched to singing bass and joined Panache.  In their first International contest they came in third.  The very next year they brought home the gold.  Talk about amazing!  They recorded four CDs and "made lots of wonderful memories."

A new quartet, Voices Only, was formed with two former members of Ambiance, one from Jubilation, and Bonnie.  This quartet was the first with four International champions.  They competed at 2001 International and placed 5th . . . it would have been 4th but they had a 36 point time penalty because the audience wouldn't stop laughing and applauding.

Greater Harmony and Bonnie are an excellent match and the chorus is excited to see how far it can go under this outstanding director.
